Mommy, where do parenting magazines come from?
THE MOTHERHOOD was started in March 2006 for the sister towns of Maplewood and South Orange, New Jersey, by two friends — Lisa Duggan and Shirley Alvarez Taybron — mothers with 12+ years of publishing and parenting experience between them. "We wanted to create a magazine that included all the faces, and the voices, of the families in our community."
