A new project is born!
We are pleased to announce the July 2011 launch of our new project: The Parent du Jour!
Parenting continues to evolve along with changes in the greater American culture—it is no longer the sole domain of women. Increasingly, Moms work outside the home: women now comprise 46% of the American workforce. Also increasing is the number of dads who stay home. In 2007, fathers made up about 2.7 % of the nation’s stay-at-home parents. This figure may seem small, but consider that it’s triple the figure for 1997.
Most families fall somewhere in the middle—both parents work, both take care of their kids. Each family chooses what works best for them. The Parent du Jour will tell the stories of today’s families—one day, and one parent, at a time. Come see what it's all about! |
